The 2017 BSA National Scout Jamboree will take place at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout
Reserve (The Summit) in West Virginia, USA from 19th July to 28th July, 2017. Over 40,000 Scouts and Leaders
from the USA and beyond will camp, live and work alongside each other. Participants must be aged between 14
and 20 years old on 19th July 2017 – that is those born between 19th July 2003 and 19th July 1997.
The jamboree experience is one of the best Scouting events a Scout can attend. The Summit is the
permanent home of the BSA’s National Scout Jamboree. With this in mind, the BSA has built the ultimate Scout
playground. The programs include BMX biking, skateboard parks, mountain biking, hiking, challenge courses and
so much more.
The Barbados Boy Scouts Association will be sending a contingent to this Jamboree. Mr. Ryan Charlemagne ADC.
was been appointed as the Contingent Leader. To qualify to be a member of the BBSA Contingent, interested
Scouts must meet the
National Criteria for Regional Events by 31st
March 2017. The fee for this activity is BDS$5,300.00 per person which includes airfare, Jamboree Fee and
camp fee (including meals, travel insurance, and Contingent Kit). The payment schedule is available in
Circular #2. A number of fund raising activities are being planned in
conjuction with the Canadian Jamboree Contingent to help cover any additional cost and to help reduce the fee.
